Lincoln Kids Against Hunger will be holding public sessions on the following dates and times. These sessions have been made possible due to the generosity of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod – USA and the Orphan Grain Train Inc. – USA. We are truly blessed to be a part of this outreach. All meals packaged during the below listed sessions are designated to the Philippine Outreach. Although some time has passed since the devastating typhoon hit, they continue to try to rebuild and survive.
Volunteers are needed to package meals and to provide a minimum $10 donation per volunteer to cover the unfunded portions of these sessions. Each volunteer will package approximately $62 of ingredients during a two hour session and will package approximately 270 meals each (less than 4 cents per meal after grant funds are applied). We are so thankful to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for funding most of these costs and to the Orphan Grain Train for transporting the meals to the Philippines.
Please consider helping us help the children and families of the Philippines who continue to suffer. Imagine the more than 4 million people who were displaced (twice the number of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami or the 2010 Haiti earthquake) who have been left to fend for themselves. Many are actually living in the remains of the aftermath – freight containers, twisted metal, abandoned boats washed ashore while they cover themselves with plastic sheeting and old mattresses. Although no magic wand exists to wave and cause this nightmare to end we can, together, make a huge difference. Your help and financial donation will allow us to provide the much needed nourishment and hope for those who continue to struggle every minute of every day. THANK YOU!!!!
